Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time capacity during weekends and afternoons. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering outstanding customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, all while fostering an environment of inclusivity and a “Judgement Free” experience. Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all.
• Answer phone inquiries in a friendly manner, providing assistance with a variety of questions.
• Facilitate member check-ins, provide facility tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate pertinent updates and events to both members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point of sale (POS) system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with issuing new membership cards, processing address changes, and resolving billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby to elevate the member experience.
• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as clearing spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking equipment.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned regularly.
• Uphold cleanliness standards in restrooms and wet areas, ensuring they are stocked appropriately.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates for this position must be willing to undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage positively and professionally with both members and coworkers, consistently exceeding expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are critical.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required timeframe and possess the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Must be able to communicate verbally in person or via telephone throughout the shift.
• Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in emergencies.
• Visual acuity within normal ranges, with or without correction.
• Auditory capability within normal ranges, with or without correction.
