Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a part-time capacity during the weekend and morning hours. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is strongly encouraged. In this role, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring they have an exceptional “Judgement Free” experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests warmly, ensuring they feel comfortable and welcome.
• Answer phone calls in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a variety of inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events effectively.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage or merchandise transactions using the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with membership card issuance, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby.
• Conduct regular cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including mopping spills, removing trash, and cleaning windows and mirrors.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned consistently.
• Regularly clean and stock restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates must successfully complete a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and co-workers, consistently exceeding expectations.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor is essential.
• Punctuality and reliability are crucial.
• Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification as required by the company and maintain the physical capability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• The ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
• Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to engage in continuous communication in person or over the phone throughout the shift.
• Maintain the physical capability to administer CPR during medical emergencies.
• Adequate eyesight to perform tasks within normal visual range, with or without correction.
