Job description:

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Member Services Representative to join our team on a part-time basis, specifically during weekends and mornings. Bilingual candidates who speak English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering exceptional customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an unparalleled "Judgement Free" experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm welcome to members and guests, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
  • Answer phone calls professionally and assist callers with various inquiries.
  • Facilitate member check-ins, conduct tours for potential new members, assist in membership sign-ups, record amenities used, and communicate relevant updates and events.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Manage beverage and merchandise transactions using the point-of-sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system effectively for new membership card issuance, address changes, and billing inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain an immaculate front desk area and lobby, ensuring they are clean and organized.
  • Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including mopping spills, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
  • Ensure the proper cleaning of all exercise equipment and tanning beds.
  • Conduct regular cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Candidates applying for overnight positions must undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of employment. Continued employment will depend on the satisfactory outcome of this background check.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to engage positively and professionally with both members and co-workers, consistently exceeding member expectations.
  • Previous customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A positive, upbeat, and professional demeanor.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification as per company requirements and maintain the physical capability to administer CPR in case of a medical emergency.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to communicate continuously in person or over the phone during shifts.
  • Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.
  • Possess normal visual acuity with or without correction.
  • Capability to hear within the normal audio range with or without correction.
