Job description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Member Services Representative to join our team in a full-time evening position (Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM and Friday from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM). Bilingual candidates in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering an exceptional level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a supportive and “Judgement Free” experience for all.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Greet members and guests warmly, providing exceptional customer service that fosters a welcoming environment.
• Answer phone calls in a courteous manner, assisting callers with a variety of inquiries.
• Check in members, conduct tours, sign up new members, log amenities, and communicate updates and events effectively to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise purchases utilizing the point of sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby to enhance the member experience.
• Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of the facility, including mopping up spills, trash removal, window and mirror cleaning, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned regularly.
• Perform routine cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Candidates must consent to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire; continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to interact positively and professionally with members and colleagues, surpassing member expectations.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Possess an upbeat, positive, and professional attitude.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company-required timelines and demonstrate the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in medical emergencies.

Physical Demands and Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally required to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Capacity to communicate continually in person or on the phone during shifts.
• Maintain the physical ability to administer CPR in medical emergencies.
• Good visual acuity and hearing capability, with or without correction.
