Job description:

We are actively seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team and support our mission of delivering an exceptional experience for Planet Fitness members. This is a full-time position with evening hours from Monday to Thursday (3:30 PM – 10:00 PM) and Friday (3:00 PM – 9:30 PM). Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply.

As a vital member of our staff, you will be instrumental in providing a high standard of customer service to our members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring a “Judgement Free” environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

  • Greet members and guests warmly, offering exceptional customer service that fosters a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Professionally answer phone inquiries and assist callers with a diverse range of questions.
  • Facilitate member check-in, conduct facility tours, assist with new member sign-ups, log amenities, and effectively communicate updates and events.
  • Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point of sale system.
  • Utilize the POS system for new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Maintain an orderly and clean front desk area and lobby.
  • Perform regular facility cleaning tasks, including mopping spills, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
  • Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are cleaned regularly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stocking in restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Candidates for this position will undergo a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, with continued employment dependent on satisfactory results.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively and professionally with members and coworkers while exceeding expectations.
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • An upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
  • Punctuality and reliability are essential.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within the required timeframe and maintain the physical ability to perform CPR/AED in emergencies.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Prolonged walking and standing; frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand motions.
