Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engage in MIG gas welding and utilize various arc welding processes to securely join metal parts in a safe environment.
  • Execute additional tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct repairs on damaged or cracked components, fill holes, and modify metal parts as necessary. Operate power units, air units, and welding equipment to meet daily production requirements.
  • Accurately measure, position, and clamp components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding.
  • Interpret blueprints and production orders to ascertain job specifications and requirements for completing production tasks.
  • Monitor and accurately inventory materials in holding bins for upcoming orders.
  • Collaborate with management to address any unexpected changes or needs, while achieving daily production goals with minimal waste.
  • Maintain communication with the supervisor via radio and provide assistance throughout the plant as required.
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping duties, including sweeping and removing excess debris while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and demonstrate the capacity to learn Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance activities.
  • Operate all relevant equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks effectively.
  • Adhere to any safety-related responsibilities as mandated by management.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling weights of up to 50 pounds.
  • Proficient in MIG welding techniques.
  • Must be able to perform considerable walking, balancing, standing, turning, climbing, stooping, crouching, and lifting.
  • Possess strong manual dexterity.
  • Able to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year.

Compensation and Shift Details:

  • Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour, with the potential for salary increases following performance reviews.
  • Shift: 1st Shift (Monday-Thursday: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM; Friday: 6:30 AM – 12:30 PM) with overtime as needed.
