Job description:

Homestead Health Care is in search of dedicated and compassionate Caregivers to deliver exceptional care to our residents in Flint, MI, with a willingness to administer medications. The Caregiver will play a pivotal role in assisting residents with their daily activities while providing companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess outstanding communication abilities, and establish meaningful relationships with seniors. This role is part-time, and we are pleased to offer training for those without prior certifications or licenses. We are hiring immediately!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents according to medical charts, while adhering to documentation procedures.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a warm and caring environment.
  • Maintain a clean living environment, which may involve light housekeeping duties.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and colleagues at Homestead.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Previous experience in elder care is preferred.
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend.
  • Reliable transportation is a must.
  • Valid driver’s license or identification is required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with prompt punctuality for every shift.

Schedule:
This is a part-time position with caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts, including the requirement of working every other weekend.

Pay:
