Job description:

Homestead Health Care is currently seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide exceptional care to our residents in Flint, MI. The Caregiver will play a crucial role in assisting residents with activities of daily living while also offering companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for helping others, possess outstanding communication skills, and develop meaningful relationships with seniors. This is a part-time position, and we are eager to train dedicated individuals, so no licenses or certifications are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinence care.
  • Administer medications and injections to residents according to medical charts, ensuring proper documentation procedures are followed.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
  • Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the supervisor.
  • Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers.
  • Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control protocols.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Prior experience working with the elderly population is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Availability to work every other weekend is required.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license or identification is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a commitment to punctuality for all shifts.

Schedule:
This is a part-time role, with caregivers scheduled for 8-hour shifts. Availability for every other weekend is mandatory.

Compensation:
