As a Network Product Service Engineer with Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, you will be part of a team responsible for supporting our network automation developers and service teams in delivering and demonstrating automation capabilities. Your role will involve engineering, planning, and provisioning the infrastructure necessary for the operation of our services, catering to both customer needs and our internal application services, including servers and load balancing equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

– Assisting in maintaining load balancing deployments utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies to ensure consistent and auditable deployment records.
– Supporting application teams with issues related to application delivery and security.
– Developing custom APIs and GUI tools to automate network functionality, enhancing vendor-provided Software Defined Networking (SDN) solutions.
– Collaborating in a 24/7 team environment, you will contribute toward large-scale initiatives such as datacenter migrations of thousands of applications, significant network address space changes, and adjustments to security standards including certificates and encryption algorithms.
– Managing idempotent deployments of new applications through bulk or scripted requests, alongside the mass migration of IaC deployments.
– Executing staged and automated rollouts of upgraded operating systems or patches for load balancing equipment, ensuring a seamless service experience during application migrations.
– Performing periodic audits and analyses of application deployment data.

Qualifications include:

– A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, accompanied by three years of relevant experience in the role or within network operations.
– Proficiency in operating F5 BigIP products (including load balancers) for at least three years.
– Development experience in Node.js for a minimum of three years.
– Familiarity with F5 AS3 (Application Services 3 Extension) and two years of hands-on experience with GSLB and DNS services in an F5 BigIP context.
