POSITION PURPOSE
The role requires advanced experience, technical expertise, and adept skills in the troubleshooting, management, and administration of network security devices. The incumbent will leverage deep analytical abilities and technical knowledge to provide support to customers and colleagues, while planning and implementing network security initiatives that address complex issues and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities throughout the organization. Effective communication of advanced technical concepts will be essential when interfacing with clients, peers, management, and vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will embody and exemplify the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in their behaviors, practices, and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering advanced system management, monitoring, support, troubleshooting, and resolution for all network security issues across the enterprise network.
- Offering comprehensive second-level support to service groups reliant on network security, including DMZ, Internet services, VPN services, and firewall services.
- Conducting root cause analysis for outages and performance issues related to network security devices.
- Contributing to the development of a technology architecture plan focused on network security, ensuring alignment and support of overarching business requirements and strategic objectives.
- Supporting new project planning initiatives and project timeline development, while assisting in technology design and deployment. This involves developing and coordinating project implementation tasks and plans.
- Staying informed of current industry best practices, engaging in self-study to enhance expertise as a subject matter expert in designing and implementing network security solutions.
- Educating and mentoring network security analysts.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, as well as the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct to ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree complemented by five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in infrastructure environments, focusing on enterprise-level network security management and administration utilizing hardware and software security solutions for LANs and WANs; or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
- A commitment to continuous personal and professional growth, characterized by a proactive mindset and a dedication to exceeding customer expectations.
- Advanced administrative experience with Next Generation firewall systems, including expertise in VPN technologies, policy management systems, and firewall clustering. Preferred experience with Check Point, Palo Alto, and Cisco ASAs, with a primary focus on firewall management.
- Proficiency in management and troubleshooting tools such as WireShark, TCPDump, and NetStat.
- Familiarity with intrusion prevention systems and monitoring, particularly experience with event correlation via Security Information Event Management (SIEM) systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in creating technical documentation, network diagrams, and job aids utilizing Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven leadership capabilities and detailed project management skills.
- Capability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and adjust to rapidly evolving technology and business demands with a demonstrated ability to prioritize projects and workload.
- Ability to establish and organize work priorities while adapting to frequently shifting requirements.
- Professional certification (CISSP with a focus on security engineering, CCNP, or CCSE) is a plus.
