Job description:
The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive audits of all accounts to ensure accuracy and balance, as well as preparing final reports for management. This role also serves as the Front Desk Clerk during the night shift, focusing on maximizing room revenue and ensuring guest satisfaction in accordance with Veridea standards.
Essential Functions:
1. Provide sincere and professional assistance to all guests, consistently going above and beyond to ensure their satisfaction while adhering to hotel standards.
2. Verify the accuracy of all charges to guest accounts made throughout the day and post room charges to ensure all accounts are current and balanced by 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
3. Complete all credit card transmittals, direct billings, and no-show billings for the day.
4. Prepare daily, monthly, and annual reports as required by the property.
5. Assume the role of Manager on Duty in the absence of the General Manager or Manager of Guest Operations.
6. Promptly register and process guests upon arrival and departure to enhance guest satisfaction.
7. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all hotel services and facilities, as well as local attractions, to effectively assist guests.
8. Employ sales techniques to effectively promote hotel offerings, optimizing occupancy and average rate.
9. Accurately receive and process telephone and walk-in reservations to ensure seamless guest experiences.
10. Address and resolve guest issues, complaints, or concerns, going to great lengths to achieve satisfactory outcomes.
11. Operate the telephone system competently and professionally in accordance with Veridea standards.
12. Understand and adhere to all hotel safety and security protocols to maintain a secure environment for both guests and employees.
13. Keep immediate supervisors informed of significant issues or unusual matters requiring attention for prompt resolution.
14. Actively seek additional responsibilities that contribute to the overall efficiency of hotel operations.
15. Set up the breakfast area daily, ensuring readiness for the breakfast attendant’s arrival.
Qualification Standards:
1. Ability to swiftly learn front desk technical and audit procedures, including check-in, check-out, and computer operations.
2. Proficient in the operation of computers or cash registers to manage monetary transactions and provide accurate change.
