Job description:

The Night Auditor is tasked with managing the comprehensive preparation and execution of all Night Audit responsibilities. In this role, you will oversee front desk operations during the overnight shift, typically from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Key responsibilities encompass registering guests, managing reservations, preparing daily reports, balancing transactions, and conducting security checks throughout the property.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field is required.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • College coursework in a related field is advantageous.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and complete the End of Day process, ensuring accuracy in all financial transactions.
  • Generate required reports for Food and Beverage audits.
  • Execute the Night Audit checklist for computer procedures on a daily basis.
  • Balance daily financials, including movie revenue, telephone postings, valet and laundry charges, and staff paperwork.
  • Uphold cashiering responsibilities according to Front Office procedures aligned with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Ensure the efficient operation of the Front Office computer system in accordance with company protocols.
  • Manage all Front Office functions during the overnight shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • Oversee periodic checks by the Midnight House Attendant to ensure all building areas and guest corridors are secure.
  • Address and fulfill all guest requests promptly throughout the overnight shift.
  • Adhere to safety and emergency protocols as outlined by Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping as per company standards.
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of Aimbridge Hospitality’s policies and house rules.
  • Prepare initial direct bill statements daily and place them on the Property Accountant’s desk, including any necessary billing backups.
  • Maintain radio communication with colleagues during the duration of the shift.
  • Understand and execute security procedures effectively.
  • Ensure that all associates remain attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and fellow team members.
  • Prepare and distribute the Daily Flash Report as required.
  • Transfer master or house accounts as necessary.
  • Distribute work materials in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Train new Night Auditors as requested by management.
  • Generate morning reports in line with Aimbridge Hospitality protocols.
  • Coordinate daily newspaper delivery and process Express Check-Outs.
  • Verify that nightly walk-throughs include the removal of room service trays and the organization of pool and Jacuzzi areas.
  • Manage Lost and Found items in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete any assigned reports in a timely manner, as requested by management.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned, such as resetting Food and Beverage P.O.S. systems, distributing the credit ‘Watch List’, and preparing daily revenue summaries.
  • Assist guests with food orders and, when applicable, serve food and beverage items in a friendly, professional, and timely manner, utilizing suggestive selling techniques while maintaining a clean, organized environment.
  • Attend management-required meetings.
  • Execute any additional responsibilities as assigned by the Guest Services Manager or other management personnel.
