The Opportunity:
KIPP Columbus is seeking a highly dedicated Operations Coordinator to join our school-based operations team. Reporting directly to the Director of School Operations, this role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of our thriving school environment. As the face of the school, the Operations Coordinator will provide exceptional customer service to students, families, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include managing the front desk, coordinating transportation requests, ensuring accurate student attendance, adhering to safety procedures for students and staff, and organizing shared workspaces. In this full-time position, you will support one of the schools within the KIPP Columbus campus.
Responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining a welcoming and visually appealing school environment.
- Providing day-to-day operational support in areas such as transportation, child nutrition, food services, technology, and facility maintenance to ensure an efficient front office.
- Collaborating closely with technology vendors to ensure all technological infrastructure functions smoothly, addressing any issues promptly.
- Cultivating positive relationships with key stakeholders including Nationwide Children’s Hospital staff, custodial services, safety and security personnel, food service staff, and outside vendors.
- Ensuring that all school areas are clutter-free and well-organized before receiving visitors.
- Assisting the Director of Operations in overseeing auxiliary services, including transportation, food service, and vendor relationships.
- Conducting bus counts, communicating with parents regarding transportation changes, and distributing transportation tags to students.
- Supporting daily attendance efforts by contacting the households of absent students to facilitate their return and maintaining a goal of 95% daily attendance.
- Implementing a tardy tracking system and entering tardy data into the school database.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail and shipments.
- Answering phone calls, redirecting inquiries, and relaying messages to staff in a timely manner.
- Maintaining administrative operations and resolving daily operational issues in the front office.
- Undertaking additional duties as assigned.

- 1-3 years of experience in a school, business, operations, or customer service/managerial role.
