SHIFT: DET – Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America – Michigan)
A Brief Overview:
The Operations Technician, Blasting, is responsible for inspecting incoming products to either approve or reject them. This role involves applying special tape or materials to protect specific areas from coating, blasting designated sections to be coated, and ensuring proper re-taping before the coating process begins. This position demands skilled craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.
What You Will Do:
- Complete all required training.
- Safely transport products using hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, as well as with tools and equipment.
- Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Adhere to established safety rules and regulations.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using appropriate tools, such as calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates, among others.
- Execute weekly housekeeping duties according to the 5S schedule.
- Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products.
- Reinforce safety expectations and ensure safe operating practices are followed, reporting any concerns to the Supervisor.
- Uphold quality and compliance standards by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and documentation as outlined by the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Utilize fine motor skills and keen eyesight to inspect incoming products, affix tape as per customer specifications, blast areas designated for coating, and re-tape products post-coating before forwarding them for final inspection.
Education Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications:
- Prior work experience is not required (Preferred)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred)
- Familiarity with FDA regulatory settings (Preferred)
