The Farmington Hills, MI location, established in 2005, encompasses a 50,000 square foot facility with a dedicated team of approximately 150 employees. In this role, the Operations Technician, Blasting, is responsible for inspecting incoming products and determining acceptance or rejection. The technician will apply protective tape to specified areas of the product, perform blasting operations, and ensure proper re-taping prior to the coating process. This position demands meticulous craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete all mandatory training programs.
• Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables to safely transport products.
• Maintain a tidy and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
• Detect and report faulty equipment and defective materials, as well as any unusual conditions, to the Department Supervisor or Lead.
• Adhere to designated safety rules and regulations.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) initiatives.
• Conduct dimensional inspections of work using appropriate tools, including calipers and measuring instruments.
• Perform weekly housekeeping in accordance with the 5S schedule.
• Follow work orders to execute operations on various parts and products.
• Reinforce safety expectations and ensure compliance with safety operating practices, reporting any issues to the Supervisor.
• Contribute to quality management by complying with all procedures and work instructions as outlined by the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Utilize fine motor skills and acute vision to inspect incoming products, applying tape as per customer specifications, blasting areas designated for coating, and re-taping products as needed.
• Post-coating, conduct a final inspection of the product before sending it to the Final Inspection area.

Educational Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Experience Qualifications:

• No prior work experience required (preferred)
• Experience in manufacturing (preferred)
• Familiarity with FDA regulatory environments (preferred)
