The Operations Technician, Blasting is responsible for inspecting incoming products, deciding to approve or reject items, and applying protective tape or materials to areas that require coating-free zones. This role involves manipulating the product to prepare it for the coating process through blasting, tape application, and re-taping. Successful candidates will possess hands-on craftsmanship skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
– Complete all necessary training.
– Utilize hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables to transport products safely.
– Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are well-kept.
– Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
– Adhere to safety rules and regulations consistently.
– Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
– Perform dimensional inspections on products using appropriate tools such as calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates as needed.
– Execute weekly housekeeping tasks according to the 5S schedule.
– Follow work orders to execute operations on various parts and products.
– Reinforce safety practices and report any safety concerns to the Supervisor.
– Ensure compliance with quality standards by adhering to all related procedures, work instructions, and documentation aligned with the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
– Employ fine motor skills and keen eyesight to thoroughly inspect products, attach protective tape per customer specifications, and prepare the items for the coating operation.
– After coating, perform a final inspection and unmasking of the product before delivering it to the Final Inspection area.
Education Qualifications:
– High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Experience Qualifications:
– Previous work experience is not required, but manufacturing experience and familiarity with an FDA regulatory environment are preferred.
