Shift Details: DET – Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America – Michigan)

Overview:
As an Operations Technician specializing in Blasting, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming products, making decisions on product approval or rejection, and utilizing protective materials for specific areas prior to blasting. This role demands a high level of craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required training.
  • Safely transport products using a hand truck, pallet jack, carts, and tables.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, defective materials, and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using tools such as calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates, as necessary.
  • Execute weekly housekeeping tasks according to the 5S schedule.
  • Follow work orders to execute operations on various parts and products.
  • Reinforce safety expectations and ensure compliance with safety operating practices; report any concerns to the Supervisor.
  • Uphold quality and compliance by following all procedures, work instructions, and forms in accordance with the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Employ fine motor skills and keen eyesight to inspect incoming products, apply protective tape as per customer specifications, perform blasting, and re-tape products ahead of the coating operation.
  • Conduct a final inspection after unmasksing the product post-coating, and forward the product to the Final Inspection area.

Education Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Preferred)

Experience Qualifications:

  • No previous work experience required (Preferred)
  • Relevant manufacturing experience (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with working in an FDA regulatory environment (Preferred)
