Job description:

We are currently seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Order Entry Pharmacy Technicians to become valuable members of our team. This position involves executing various data entry tasks within our pharmacy system, ensuring the accurate and prompt input of prescription and patient information. Multiple shifts are available, including 1st shift (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM), 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM), and 3rd shift (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM).

Responsibilities:

  • Enter new orders, discontinuations (DCs), and STAT orders into the pharmacy system.
  • Manage Accuflow Change logs, mail order entry, CII evaluations, work queues, blister management, and patient admissions.
  • Ensure precise and timely input of prescription and patient information utilizing the pharmacy computer systems Framework/DocuTrack.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in prescription and patient data entries.
  • Address order discrepancies with customers, including challenges related to illegible prescriptions and potential medication issues.
  • Collaborate effectively with Order Entry leadership to meet departmental goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the assessment and ongoing enhancement of client services, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service via telephone to address customer needs and expectations.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient data entry capabilities.
  • Experience in customer support, preferably in a pharmacy environment (registered or non-registered).
  • Strong customer service acumen.
  • Call center experience.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations.
  • Typing proficiency.
  • Background in retail pharmacy.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer support or a pharmacy setting (registered or non-registered).

Work Environment:
The role is situated within a closed-door pharmacy where technicians engage with customers telephonically, rather than face-to-face. Technicians will be scheduled to work one weekend every other week, with a weekday off in return. Additionally, this position requires working three of six holidays annually. The dress code mandates scrubs or business casual attire, paired with comfortable and clean tennis shoes. All order entry and customer care functions are performed using a computer and a headset. Familiarity with computers, headset usage, and multitasking skills is highly advantageous. The facility is maintained in a clean and organized manner, featuring a front desk, an office area dedicated to order entry and pharmacists, an operational floor with automated equipment and refill shelves, computer screens displaying orders, an IV room, and a break room equipped with coffee, water, and snacks for sale.

Pay and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $16.00 – $18.00 per hour. Eligibility requirements may affect some benefits and could depend on job classification and length of employment.
