Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support off-campus activities at our extension sites (Parkridge and Ellsworth) in Ypsilanti, assisting with After School, Summer, and Workforce Development programs.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact, welcoming all users, assessing their needs, and directing them to appropriate resources.
  • Assist in the facilitation of student-centered classes, workshops, and activities.
  • Perform routine tasks including classroom setup, front desk support, room preparation, monitoring supply levels, and maintaining cleanliness at both locations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse clientele through effective information sharing, instruction, and assistance.
  • Require strong attention to detail and the ability to offer face-to-face, telephone, and email assistance to students and their families in a safe and diverse environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, department meetings, and training sessions as assigned by college leadership.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Manager of College and Career Readiness.
  • This position will be located off-campus.

Hours/Schedule:
This is a part-time role with a maximum of 20 hours per week. The schedule will include morning and afternoon shifts that may extend from 9 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Friday, and occasional Saturdays, based on office needs.

Work Environment:
The position will be conducted off-campus at our extension sites (Parkridge and Ellsworth) in Ypsilanti.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of college-level coursework.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills, with a focus on excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.
  • Proven ability to successfully engage with diverse patrons representing various ages, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds.
  • Availability to work scheduled shifts between 9 AM and 9 PM, Monday through Saturday.
