Job description:

WCC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Part Time College and Career Readiness – Support Staff. This role is essential for supporting off-campus activities at our extension sites located in Parkridge and Ellsworth, Ypsilanti, assisting with our After School, Summer, and Workforce Development programs. Candidates may be considered for opportunities that arise prior to or during each semester. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support for off-campus activities at our extension sites, assisting with various programs.
• Serve as the initial point of contact, greeting all visitors, assessing their needs, and directing them to the appropriate resources.
• Contribute to the delivery of student-centered classes, workshops, and activities.
• Execute routine tasks including classroom setup, front desk support, room preparation, monitoring supply levels, and maintaining cleanliness at both locations.
• Ensure a high level of customer service by sharing information and providing instruction and assistance to a diverse clientele.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive atmosphere, demonstrating strong attention to detail while delivering face-to-face, telephone, and email assistance to students and their families.
• Participate in staff meetings, departmental gatherings, and training sessions as designated by college leadership.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Manager of College Career Readiness.
• Note: This is an off-campus role.

Hours/Schedule:
This part-time position requires a commitment of no more than 20 hours per week. The schedule may involve mornings and afternoons between 9 AM and 9 PM, Monday through Friday, with some availability required on Saturdays, based on office needs.

Work Environment:
This position is conducted off-campus at our extension sites in Ypsilanti.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of college-level coursework.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills, particularly in a customer service and telephone context.
• Proven ability to engage effectively with a diverse population encompassing various ages, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds.
• Flexibility to work during mornings and afternoons, from 9 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Saturday.
