POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Shift Lead for our retail location at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, cultivating and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Overall Brand Experience

  • Exemplify and promote 5.11’s values, mission, and service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to implement merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate tasks related to merchandise processing, replenishment, and overall sales floor recovery in accordance with brand standards.
  • Ensure that all alterations and embellishments are executed according to departmental specifications.
  • Facilitate an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience for customers.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional store environment through diligent housekeeping practices.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to monitor progress towards sales goals, plans, and budgets, optimizing profitability.
  • Assist with inventory reductions, price adjustments, and merchandise transfers.
  • Unpack and label merchandise received from delivery, ensuring all items are properly tagged for security.
  • Adhere to and execute safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of both employees and customers.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all company systems utilized in the store.

  • Foster an environment dedicated to a customer-first approach.
  • Demonstrate effective selling behaviors to strengthen customer relationships and brand loyalty.
  • Encourage the use of store tools and systems that nurture customer relationships.

  • Take ownership of store and individual sales targets.
  • Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training exemplary service specialists.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback through both formal and informal methods to ensure a cohesive working environment.
  • Develop and adjust the store labor schedule as necessary.
  • Help manage controllable expenses effectively.
  • Safeguard store assets through the implementation of loss prevention practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, with preference given to apparel experience.
  • Previous retail management or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver superior customer experiences and foster customer loyalty.
  • Proven capability to assess talent and manage team performance.
  • Strong business acumen complemented by strategic and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend shifts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Physical ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly, with the capacity to lift or move up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience using a POS system.
