POSITION SUMMARY:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location in Shelby Township, MI. The Shift Lead will be responsible for delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, building and nurturing customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver Overall Brand Experience
- Direct and exemplify 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and recovery of the sales floor to align with brand standards.
- Ensure all alterations and embellishments are executed in accordance with departmental specifications.
- Model an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Maintain housekeeping duties to ensure a neat, clean, and professional store environment.
- In conjunction with the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals, sales plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with reductions, price changes, and transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive, unpack merchandise, and label items with security tags.
- Implement safety and security routines to prevent loss and ensure employee and customer safety.
- Oversee the use of all company systems within the store.
Build Customer Relationships
- Create an environment centered on unparalleled customer focus.
- Demonstrate selling behaviors that foster customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Support the effective use of store tools and systems to enhance customer relationships.
Achieve Results
- Be accountable for store and personal sales targets.
- Support the recruitment, hiring, and training of top-tier leadership service specialists.
- Assess team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring collaboration among team members to cultivate a positive work environment and address issues proactively.
- Develop and adjust the store labor schedule.
- Manage store controllable expenses effectively.
- Protect store assets through the implementation of loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to deliver a superior customer experience and cultivate customer loyalty.
- Demonstrated capability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
- Strategic and analytical skills with strong business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Availability for flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Physical ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Proficient use of a POS system.
