POSITION SUMMARY:
We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, cultivating and sustaining customer relationships while achieving store sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Overall Brand Experience

  • Embody and exemplify 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an outstanding customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate updates, identify growth opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate responsibilities for merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor maintenance in accordance with brand standards.
  • Oversee alterations and embellishments to ensure alignment with departmental specifications.
  • Model efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experiences.
  • Ensure all housekeeping duties are fulfilled to uphold a pristine and professional store environment.
  • In partnership with the Store Manager, monitor and evaluate sales goals, plans, and budgets to maximize profitability.
  • Assist with markdowns, price changes, and stock transfers.
  • Manage the unpacking, labeling, and security tagging of merchandise upon delivery.
  • Implement safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of both employees and customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all company systems utilized in the store.

Build Customer Relationships

  • Foster an environment that prioritizes customer engagement.
  • Demonstrate effective selling behaviors to enhance customer relationships and brand loyalty.
  • Advocate for the use of store tools and systems to develop customer connections.

Achieve Results

  • Assume accountability for meeting store and individual sales targets.
  • Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback through both informal and formal channels.
  • Ensure team collaboration to create a positive work environment and address any issues that arise.
  • Prepare and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
  • Contribute to the management of controllable store expenses.
  • Safeguard store assets by implementing loss prevention practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, with a preference for apparel.
  • Prior retail management or supervisory experience.
  • A proven track record of delivering outstanding customer service and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
  • Strong business acumen, complemented by strategic and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable across all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead during the performance of job duties.
  • Capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 15 pounds.
  • Experience in using a POS system is essential.
