POSITION SUMMARY:
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location in Shelby Township, MI. The Shift Lead will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver Overall Brand Experience
- Direct and exemplify 5.11’s values, mission, and service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategy implementation.
- Lead and delegate tasks related to merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to meet brand standards.
- Ensure all alterations and embellishments are completed per departmental specifications.
- Model an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Maintain a clean, professional store environment through diligent housekeeping.
- Under the Store Manager’s direction, monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with merchandise reductions, price changes, and transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive, unpack merchandise, and label items with security tags.
- Adhere to and execute safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
- Maintain a working knowledge and oversee the use of all company systems within the store.
Build Customer Relationships
- Create an environment that is entirely focused on the customer.
- Demonstrate effective selling behaviors to cultivate enduring customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Encourage and support the use of store tools and systems to nurture customer interactions.
Achieve Results
- Be accountable for both store and individual sales targets.
- Participate in the attraction, recruitment, hiring, and training of high-caliber service specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring a collaborative and positive work environment, while effectively resolving issues.
- Write and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
- Assist in managing store controllable expenses.
- Safeguard store assets through the implementation of loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Prior retail management or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a superior customer experience and enhance customer loyalty.
- Proven talent assessment and performance management skills.
- Strong business acumen complemented by strategic and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with all organizational levels.
- Flexible scheduling availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Physical capability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly; must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Familiarity with using a POS system.
