POSITION SUMMARY:
To further our mission, we are seeking a dynamic Shift Lead for our Retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. This individual will play a key role in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering and maintaining strong customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVER OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE

  • Uphold and embody 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to maintain brand standards.
  • Ensure all alterations and embellishments are performed according to department specifications.
  • Facilitate an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
  • Maintain a clean and professional store environment through diligent housekeeping.
  • In collaboration with the Store Manager, monitor and drive sales goals, plans, and budgets to maximize profitability.
  • Assist with reductions, price adjustments, and inventory transfers.
  • Oversee the unloading of deliveries, receiving, unpacking merchandise, and security tagging of products.
  • Implement and follow safety and security procedures to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all company systems utilized in-store.

BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

  • Create an environment that prioritizes a 100% customer focus.
  • Exemplify effective selling behaviors to nurture customer relationships and foster brand loyalty.
  • Support the utilization of store tools and systems to enhance engagement with customers.

ACHIEVE RESULTS

  • Take responsibility for meeting both store and individual sales targets.
  • Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback through both informal and formal methods, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Develop and adjust the store’s labor schedule as necessary.
  • Manage store controllable expenses effectively.
  • Safeguard store assets by implementing robust loss prevention practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, particularly in apparel.
  • Prior retail management or supervisory experience is essential.
  • Proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and drive customer loyalty.
  • Demonstrated capability to assess talent and manage team performance effectively.
  • Strong business acumen with analytical and strategic skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptable to all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Physical capability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly, with occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 15 pounds.
  • Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
