POSITION SUMMARY:
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail store situated at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The Shift Lead will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering and maintaining customer relationships while achieving store sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Overall Brand Experience

  • Champion and model 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to meet brand standards.
  • Ensure all alterations and embellishments are executed per departmental specifications.
  • Facilitate an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience for customers.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional store environment by overseeing housekeeping duties.
  • In collaboration with the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to maximize profitability.
  • Assist with markdowns, price adjustments, and inventory transfers.
  • Unload delivery trucks, receive, open, and unpack merchandise, marking items with security tags.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Possess a working knowledge of and oversee the use of all company systems in the store.

Build Customer Relationships

  • Foster a store environment that maintains a 100% focus on customer engagement.
  • Model effective selling behaviors to enhance customer relationships and build brand loyalty.
  • Support the use of store tools and systems to nurture customer relationships effectively.

Achieve Results

  • Hold accountability for store and individual sales goals.
  • Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
  • Conduct assessments of the team’s performance and provide constructive feedback through both informal and formal methods. Ensure team cohesion in creating a positive working environment and resolve any arising issues.
  • Draft and adjust the store labor schedule as necessary.
  • Help manage controllable expenses in the store.
  • Safeguard the store’s assets by implementing loss prevention strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience in a retail environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering customer loyalty.
  • Strong capability in talent assessment and performance management.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with strategic and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • The ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead is regularly required for this position.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Experience with POS system usage.
