POSITION SUMMARY:
To advance this mission, we are seeking a Shift Lead for our retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering strong customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVER OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE
- Exemplify and promote 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor maintenance to meet brand standards.
- Ensure alterations and embellishments are executed in accordance with department specifications.
- Facilitate an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience for customers.
- Complete housekeeping duties to maintain a neat, clean, and professional store environment.
- Alongside the Store Manager, monitor and review sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with markdowns, price changes, and merchandise transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive and unpack merchandise, and label products with security tags.
- Execute safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
- Possess a working knowledge of all company systems utilized in the store.
BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
- Create an environment with a strong focus on customer engagement.
- Demonstrate selling behaviors that cultivate customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Support the use of store tools and systems to nurture customer connections.
ACHIEVE RESULTS
- Take responsibility for meeting both store and personal sales targets.
- Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber sales specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring collaboration to resolve any issues.
- Write and adjust the store’s labor schedule as needed.
- Help manage controllable expenses within the store.
- Safeguard store assets by implementing effective loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:
- A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a retail setting.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a superior customer experience and foster customer loyalty.
- Proven skills in talent assessment and performance management.
- Strong business acumen with both strategic and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling interaction with all organizational levels.
- Flexible scheduling availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- The physical ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead, with occasional lifting or movement of up to 15 pounds.
- Competency in using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
