Job description:

Immediate opportunity available for a Part-Time Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team at Ryder. In this role, drivers will transport empty trucks and trailers between rental branches and potentially to customer locations in and around Kentwood, MI.

Key Details of the Position:

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday

Additional Role Information:

  • Route: Local with daily home return
  • Equipment: Day Cab and Sleeper Tractors; Rental Equipment, Trailers, Tractors, Straight Trucks, Metro Vans

  • Freight: No touch, focused on relocating trucks and trailers between locations

Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Successful completion of a Ryder drug test
  • Background check and driving record verification for the previous three years, including drug and alcohol testing
  • DOT physical clearance
  • Successful completion of a Ryder road test
  • Valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements for the position
  • Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or similar vehicle:
    • Minimum of 9 months experience within the last 3 years, or
    • 2 years of experience within the last 5 years, or
    • 5 years of experience within the last 10 years
  • Ability to adhere to written and/or oral instructions
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and applying laws, regulations, policies, and procedures

The primary responsibility of this position is to operate a commercial vehicle safely, adhering to safety and DOT regulations, participating in ongoing training, and providing exemplary customer service.
