Job description:

The Patient Access Representative I, operating under general direction, plays a crucial role in executing tasks associated with specific assignments. Key responsibilities include registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, and cashier duties, as designated by Revenue Cycle Management. The Patient Access Representative I is expected to complete assignment tasks in accordance with the established quality and productivity standards relevant to the position.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently fulfill all assigned tasks and responsibilities of the Patient Access Representative I within designated timeframes.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and needs promptly, professionally, and courteously.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all team members at McLaren Health Care.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience in Patient Access, Medical Billing, or Customer Service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, as well as Windows-based applications and 10-key calculators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Health Care, Finance, or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Certification in medical billing, coding, or an equivalent job-specific certification.
  • Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • At least one year of experience in Revenue Cycle.
