Job description:

Under general supervision, the Patient Access Representative I is responsible for executing tasks associated with designated assignments. Responsibilities will encompass areas such as registration, financial clearance, insurance verification, and cashier duties, as directed by Revenue Cycle Management. The Patient Access Representative I is expected to carry out these tasks while adhering to the quality and productivity standards pertinent to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and promptly complete all allocated tasks and responsibilities of the Patient Access Representative I.
  • Respond to all customer inquiries with professionalism, courtesy, and promptness.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all members of the McLaren Health Care team.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in Patient Access, Medical Billing, or Customer Service.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, as well as Windows-based applications and 10-key calculators.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Health Care, Finance, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Certification in medical billing, coding, or a comparable job-specific certification.
  • Familiarity with CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Revenue Cycle.
