Job description:

When patients enter our outpatient physical therapy center, we strive to provide them with an exceptional experience, beginning with their interaction at the front desk. In the role of Patient Service Specialist, you will be instrumental in managing both patient engagement and the operational aspects of our center. Your contributions will significantly enhance the overall care experience of each patient, even prior to their departure from the waiting area.

Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet and register patients, offering detailed information regarding what to expect during their visit and instructions for their next appointment upon checkout.
  • Schedule patient appointments both in person and via phone.
  • Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including attorney offices, insurance companies, translation services, market operational leaders, and the business development team.
  • Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Experience in insurance verification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout the workday.
  • Adequate manual dexterity to enable typing (including 10-key) throughout the workday.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds safely from ground to waist using proper body mechanics.
  • Capacity to carry office supplies weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Visual acuity (both near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize individuals, and comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to speak and hear well enough to understand and provide directions.
