Job Summary
As a Patient Services Representative at Corewell Health, you will be integral to delivering exceptional healthcare services to our patients. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to provide essential registration, concierge, and clerical services. Your contributions will significantly impact the lives of those we serve.
Essential Functions
- Address complex patient/customer issues, demonstrating high-level discernment during patient registration in treatment areas.
- Perform administrative duties including, but not limited to: assisting with patient check-out; scheduling appointments, managing referrals, and coordinating tests and surgeries; maintaining and updating provider templates; navigating external patient referral portals; and reconciling multi-department deposits.
- Obtain and verify insurance authorizations, and assist with appeals for retroactive insurance denials.
- Execute intricate EMR/EHR tasks, including scanning and faxing documents via Right Fax to EPIC.
- Support the onboarding of new team members by utilizing standard work guidelines.
- Be prepared to fulfill the role of Patient Services Representative Associate as necessary.
- Engage actively in safety initiatives and risk mitigation efforts, ensuring timely completion of all position and unit safety competencies and requirements.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, or similar roles.
