Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist I for a part-time position in Mentor, OH. The work schedule includes Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, with additional hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, alongside rotational weekend duties. The starting pay is $17.58 per hour, with the potential for higher compensation based on various factors such as relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Responsibilities
The Phlebotomist I will be accountable for the following key responsibilities:

  • Collecting specimens in accordance with established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams.
  • Administering oral solutions as per established training guidelines.
  • Verifying and confirming test/client information, ensuring accuracy of written and electronic orders through lab technology systems and client communication.
  • Navigating computer systems and accurately entering data is essential for success in this role.
  • Obtaining identification, entering billing information accurately, and collecting payments as needed, in compliance with corporate policies.
  • Processing specimens, which includes labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transportation as dictated by test orders.
  • Performing non-patient-facing duties, such as inventory management, supply stocking, sanitization, filing, phone answering, and email correspondence.
  • Reading, understanding, and adhering to departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assisting in the compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.
  • Maintaining all necessary phlebotomy logs promptly and accurately, including maintenance and temperature logs.
  • Completing required online and in-person training courses in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Required Education

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Medical training as a medical assistant or paramedic is preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification is preferred; it is required for candidates located in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

  1. A minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  2. Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.
  3. Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry is essential.

Effective communication in English is required for this position.
