Job description:
The Club Manager is accountable for overseeing gym operations, ensuring an outstanding “Judgment Free” experience for members while driving financial success for the club. This role involves leading a team in a positive and motivating environment, with a focus on employee training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

– Recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a high-performing staff, including Assistant Managers, Member Service Representatives, Trainers, and Custodians.
– Cultivating and sustaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members, and guests, while ensuring that staff adheres to established customer service excellence standards.
– Managing staff schedules to guarantee that all shifts are adequately covered.
– Leading by example and consistently holding team members accountable through effective training and coaching, in alignment with PF’s values and objectives.
– Administering and processing weekly/bi-weekly payroll for employees.
– Addressing employee issues and concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
– Overseeing disciplinary actions and termination processes as necessary.
– Engaging in front desk activities, which include:
– Answering phone calls with a friendly demeanor and addressing various inquiries.
– Checking members into the system efficiently.
– Facilitating new member sign-ups and conducting tours for prospective members.
– Assisting members with requests, issues, and questions promptly.
– Ensuring the timely opening and closing of the gym.
– Overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility, with direct responsibility for the primary section of daily cleaning.
– Upholding the safety of employees, members, and club property.
– Identifying and communicating equipment repair needs in a timely manner.
– Managing marketing efforts, ensuring staff is informed and trained on all promotional activities.
– Authorizing expenditures and refunds, and making daily bank deposits.
– Preparing HR-related documentation and submitting it to the Corporate Payroll Team.
– Tracking and reporting statistics on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
– Providing backup support for absent employees as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

– Exceptional customer service skills, ideally with prior experience in the fitness industry.
– Previous experience as an Assistant Manager at Planet Fitness.
– Outstanding leadership, diplomatic, and listening abilities.
– Basic proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
– A dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic work ethic.
– Strong problem-solving skills.
– Current CPR certification is required.
– A high school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
