Prep Cook:

As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items required for all dining room orders and events. You will adhere to local health department standards as well as the Core Values of Suburban Inns, ensuring that you go above and beyond to guarantee complete guest satisfaction.

Cook Essential Functions:

  • Arrive at work in a professionally presented, neat, and clean uniform
  • Greet all guests with a friendly, positive demeanor, initiating personal connections to ensure they feel welcomed and valued
  • Anticipate and meet our guests’ needs and expectations, and strive to exceed them
  • Prepare all required items following make sheets and recipes
  • Set up service units with necessary items
  • Serve items in compliance with established portions and presentation standards
  • Notify the Kitchen Supervisor of any expected shortages
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in assigned work areas and equipment
  • Assist the Kitchen Supervisor in upholding security and safety within the kitchen
  • Set up, maintain, and dismantle the prep cook station
  • Requisition items necessary for producing menu items
  • Comply with local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain logs as required by the health department
  • Properly cover, date, and neatly store all reusable leftover products
  • Uphold the highest standards of sanitation
  • Demonstrate consistent attendance records
  • Perform other duties as requested by management

Cook Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:

Cook Uniform: A uniform shirt and name tag will be provided. Team members are responsible for wearing Suburban Inns-approved black slacks and black, close-toed, non-slip shoes.

Cook Appearance: Visible earrings are permitted in the ears only, or must be covered during the shift. Hair should be of a natural color and kept well-groomed. This policy will be enforced by the position’s supervisor, without discrimination based on race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations reserves the right to override any decision made by the position’s supervisor.
