Prep Cook:

As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing all food items needed for dining room orders and events while adhering to local health department standards and the Core Values of Suburban Inns. Cook Essential Functions:

  • Arrive for work in a professionally presented, neat, and clean uniform
  • Greet all guests warmly, engaging with them to make them feel welcomed and valued
  • Anticipate and fulfill the needs and expectations of our guests, consistently aiming to exceed them
  • Prepare all required food items according to established recipes and make sheets
  • Set up service units with necessary items
  • Serve items following established portion and presentation standards
  • Inform the Kitchen Supervisor of any anticipated shortages
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned work areas and equipment
  • Assist the Kitchen Supervisor in ensuring safety and security in the kitchen
  • Successfully set up, maintain, and break down the prep cook station
  • Requisition items necessary for menu preparation
  • Comply with local health and safety regulations
  • Maintain required logs for health department compliance
  • Properly cover, date, and store all reusable leftover products
  • Uphold the highest standards of sanitation
  • Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

Cook Uniform and Appearance Guidelines:
Uniforms consist of a provided shirt and name tag. Team members are responsible for wearing approved black slacks and black, closed-toe, non-slip shoes.

As for appearance, only visible earrings in the ears are permitted and must be covered during the shift. Hair must be kept in natural colors and well-groomed. This policy will be enforced by the position’s supervisor, without bias toward race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, or any other protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations retains the authority to override any decisions made by the position’s supervisor.

Compensation details: $15-$18 hourly wage.
