Northrop Grumman is looking for a Senior Principal Database Administrator (DBA) to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. NASIC is tasked with producing all-source intelligence that outlines the current and future air, air defense, cyber, space, and ballistic missile threats, facilitating military operations, force modernization, and policy-making. The selected DBA will be a key member of a team responsible for administering various database environments including Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, and several Graph Databases. This role will involve leading the implementation of new Enterprise-level Graph Database solutions while providing general support for existing environments. As modernization efforts continue, opportunities will arise in areas such as Cloud technologies and DevOps CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in containerization and Kubernetes will be crucial as NASIC’s Database architecture undergoes a Digital Transformation. The chosen candidate will support a production environment on-site at NASIC/WPAFB once the necessary security clearance is obtained.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience OR a master’s degree with 3 years of applicable experience OR a high school diploma/equivalent with 9 years of professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Database Administration.
• Ability to obtain IAT Level II certification, such as SecurityX or Security+.
• Active Department of Defense Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with DevOps architecture, including Kubernetes, Nexus, Harbor, Docker, GitLab, etc.
• Proficiency in administering Oracle, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, or Graph Databases.
• Familiarity with Apache, NGINX, or JBoss Server administration.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Current CompTIA SecurityX or Security+ certification.

Salary Range: $91,200.00 – $136,800.00
The stated salary range serves as a guideline; Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers, including the position’s scope and responsibilities, along with the candidate’s experience, education, skills, and prevailing market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differentials, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base compensation, with annual bonuses designed to recognize individual contributions and share company success. Those in Vice President or Director roles may qualify for Long Term Incentives.
