Candidates with prior experience in in-home care are highly encouraged to apply. Starting compensation for this position is $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize assistive transfer devices, including Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand devices, gait belts, and slide boards
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as transitioning in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Evaluate changes in clients’ health and collaborate with the healthcare team as necessary
• Maintain a clean living environment, including light housekeeping tasks
• Utilize and clean medical devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in clients’ conditions and promptly communicate these to your supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Adhere to schedules and assist residents with repositioning as needed
• Facilitate transportation for clients to medical appointments or shopping trips
• Complete all required documentation and charting accurately
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures diligently

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience
• Proficiency in passing medications
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable transportation available for travel up to 25 miles
• Weekend availability
