Position Description: Private Duty Caregiver

As a caregiver at Homestead Home Health Care, you will play an essential role in enriching the lives of our elderly clients by providing both physical and emotional support. Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize transfer assistive devices, such as Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand devices, gait belts, and slide boards.
• Assist clients with daily living activities, including transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and mobility.
• Evaluate changes in clients’ health and collaborate with other healthcare team members as necessary.
• Maintain a clean living environment, which may include light housekeeping duties.
• Use and clean medical devices, such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
• Assess for changes in clients’ conditions and promptly communicate findings to supervisory staff.
• Develop and implement engaging life enrichment activities for clients.
• Follow established schedules and assist clients with repositioning as needed.
• Provide transportation for clients to medical appointments or shopping outings.
• Complete all required documentation and charting accurately.
• Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Adhere to all Homestead policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience.
• Experience in administering medications.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Reliable transportation, with travel limited to a maximum of 25 miles.
• Weekend availability is required.
