The Detroit Free Press has designated Homestead Health Care as a TOP WORKPLACE, and we are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Private Duty Caregivers in the Bloomfield Hills, MI area.

In this pivotal role, you will serve as a vital source of support for our elderly clients, enhancing their quality of life through both physical and emotional assistance. We encourage serious applicants who are eager to work and have a passion for caring for the elderly to apply. Currently, we are seeking assistance for a client from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit-to-stand devices, gait belts, and slide boards.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as transfers in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and walking.
  • Monitor changes in clients’ health and communicate with other healthcare team members as needed.
  • Maintain a clean living environment, which may include light housekeeping tasks.
  • Handle and care for medical devices such as catheters, colostomy bags, and oxygen supplies.
  • Assess changes in clients’ conditions and promptly communicate findings to a supervisor.
  • Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities.
  • Follow scheduling guidelines and assist clients with repositioning as required.
  • Transport clients to medical appointments or shopping as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation and charting.
  • Plan, shop for, and prepare nutritious meals.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Adhere to all Homestead policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience.
  • Experience in administering medications.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • A valid driver’s license and insurance.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 miles.
  • Availability for weekend shifts.
