We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. As a vital member of our care team, the Medical Assistant collaborates closely with a primary care physician to provide outstanding patient care and deliver an exceptional experience for our patients. Due to our distinctive model, our Medical Assistants manage the full spectrum of the patient experience, performing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities encompass the main expectations of this position but are not exhaustive:
- Escort patients to examination rooms while ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking of those rooms.
- Review previous medical information and collect relevant updated health information from patients to inform the provider.
- Measure vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, assist with procedures, and coordinate with contracted labs for additional testing.
- Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by and upon written order from the provider.
- Collaborate with other care team members to develop individual patient care plans that address and identify gaps in care.
- Perform front desk functions, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordination of specialist visits, referrals, and other care outside the clinic, as well as check-in and check-out processes.
- Accurately record pertinent data in the medical records in accordance with documentation guidelines.
- Process test results and communicate timely results to patients via e-message, mail, or phone based on the provider’s instructions.
- Engage in outreach efforts to drive patient engagement among eligible groups.
- Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment required for treatments.
About You:
- A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, ideally in a Primary Care setting, though variations may occur based on clinic needs.
- Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or a related program.
- National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred, with certification or registration required in states where mandated.
- CPR/BLS certification must be obtained by the start date.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
