We are currently seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role within our care team, collaborating closely with primary care physicians to deliver exceptional patient care and an outstanding patient experience. Given our unique model, Medical Assistants manage the entire spectrum of patient interactions, functioning both as Medical Receptionists and in a clinical capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The expectations outlined below reflect the general responsibilities of this position but are not considered exhaustive.
– Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
– Review patients’ previous medical records and gather updated health information to inform the provider.
– Measure vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, dress wounds, and assist with procedures, coordinating with contracted labs for additional tests as needed.
– Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations—oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal—under the direction and written order of the provider.
– Collaborate with care team members to develop individualized patient care plans, identifying and addressing any gaps in care.
– Perform front desk responsibilities, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits and referrals, as well as managing patient check-in and check-out.
– Accurately record pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
– Process test results and communicate timely updates to patients via e-message, mail, or phone, following written instructions from the provider.
– Engage in outreach efforts to encourage participation among eligible patient groups.
– Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment necessary for treatments.

Qualifications:
– A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a Primary Care setting, with variations based on clinic needs.
– Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or another related program.
– National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred; it is mandatory for employment in states where certification/registration is required.
– CPR/BLS certification must be obtained by the start date.
– Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
