About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. This pivotal role involves working closely with a primary care physician to provide exceptional patient care and guest experiences. Our unique model allows Medical Assistants to oversee the complete spectrum of patient interaction, fulfilling dual responsibilities as both a Medical Receptionist and a Clinical Medical Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
While the following duties represent typical expectations for this position, they are not exhaustive:

  • Escort patients to exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper stocking.
  • Review prior medical information and collect pertinent updated health data from patients to support providers.
  • Measure vital signs, conduct blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures, collaborating with contracted labs for additional testing.
  • Prepare and administer authorized medications and immunizations under the direction of, and per written orders from, the provider.
  • Collaborate with care team members to develop individualized patient care plans, identifying and addressing gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk responsibilities, including patient scheduling, medical record management, appointment coordination, check-in/check-out processes, and more.
  • Maintain accurate and relevant data in the medical record in accordance with documentation guidelines.
  • Process test results and efficiently communicate them to patients via e-message, mail, or phone, following provider instructions.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives to promote patient participation among eligible groups.
  • Ensure availability of clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatment purposes.

About You:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in a primary care setting, with variations based on clinic needs.
  • Graduation from a recognized Medical Assistant program or a related educational program.
  • National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred; required in states with certification/registration mandates.
  • CPR/BLS certification is required upon starting.
  • Experience in phlebotomy is preferred.
