We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. In this pivotal role, the Medical Assistant will work closely with a primary care physician to deliver exemplary patient care and ensure an outstanding guest experience. Due to our unique model, Medical Assistants in our organization will oversee the entire patient experience, functioning as both a Medical Receptionist and a Medical Assistant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties and responsibilities illustrate the expectations for this position, though they are not exhaustive:
– Escort patients to examination rooms, ensuring these areas are thoroughly cleaned and well-stocked.
– Review prior medical information and collect relevant updated health information from patients to support the provider.
– Measure vital signs, perform blood draws, administer injections, apply dressings, and assist with procedures, collaborating with contracted labs for additional testing.
– Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations—whether oral, topical, inhaled, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal—according to the direction of and written order from the provider.
– Collaborate with other members of the care team to create individualized patient care plans, including identifying and addressing gaps in care.
– Provide front desk support, which includes patient scheduling, medical record requests, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, managing referrals, and overseeing the check-in and check-out processes.
– Accurately record pertinent data in the medical record in compliance with documentation guidelines.
– Process test results and communicate findings to patients in a timely manner through e-message, mail, or phone, as directed by the provider’s written instructions.
– Engage in outreach efforts to foster patient engagement among eligible groups.
– Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment necessary for treatments.

About You:
– A minimum of one year of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably within a Primary Care setting, though this may vary based on clinic needs.
– Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or related field.
– National or state-specific Medical Assistant certification or registration is strongly preferred. Certification or registration is required for employment in states where it is mandated.
– CPR/BLS certification is required by the start date.
– Phlebotomy experience is favored.
