Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Commissioner, is responsible for managing all facets of event marketing within the Division of Public Auditorium’s Sales and Marketing Office. This pivotal role encompasses the planning, execution, and analysis of marketing strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
– Administrative Oversight: Operate under administrative direction to plan and manage specific projects or programs for a City department, acting as the administrative supervisor throughout.
– Staff Supervision: Plan, assign, supervise, and evaluate the activities of subordinate personnel while ensuring alignment with project goals.
– Budget Monitoring: Oversee the project’s operating budget and assist in its annual preparation.
– Program Evaluation: Design, implement, and assess procedures used for program evaluation.
– Interdepartmental Collaboration: Develop and secure commitments from other City departments and agencies to provide essential services to program participants.
– Technical Assistance: Offer technical support and review program policies and procedures as needed.
– Reporting: Maintain up-to-date project information, prepare financial and narrative reports, and communicate project status effectively to municipal officials and relevant stakeholders.
– Employee Management: Potentially supervise employees assigned to specific projects and perform additional duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
– A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory. A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Business or Public Administration, Social Sciences, or a closely related field is preferred.

– Ability to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds is essential.

Educational Background:

– Four (4) years of full-time paid experience in marketing, project coordination, or a related field is necessary, with demonstrated experience in campaign management, market analysis, and content editing. Experience in collaborating with external vendors and coordinating marketing materials is also required. (Note: Two (2) years of related full-time paid experience may substitute for each missing year of college education).
– Proficiency in marketing, website, social media, and project management software, as well as strong computer skills including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), is imperative.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational and multitasking abilities, are required. Candidates should demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
