Position Summary
The individual in this role will report to the Senior Events Coordinator and will be responsible for managing career fairs and various career events. This position involves the development and execution of marketing plans and initiatives for Career Services and mentoring a team of student interns and event coordinators to successfully plan and implement large recruiting events. Additionally, the individual will assist in the formulation and monitoring of recruiting program budgets, utilize Handshake for event management and on-campus recruiting, and generate relevant reports.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
– Develop, plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of designated events and on-campus recruiting activities for Career Services.
– Utilize the Career Management System and Excel to maintain accurate records of career fairs, on-campus interviews, and scheduled company events.
– Assist in the development of the unit’s event budget, while monitoring, analyzing, and reconciling projected versus actual revenue and expenses; proactively inform the Director of Employer Relations and Communications regarding any significant anticipated changes in event-related activity.
– Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and supervise students and volunteers for events and recruiting activities, ensuring high-quality service and the accuracy of program execution.
– Recommend, create, and deliver training programs for interns, staff, and volunteers related to event and recruiting management.
– Coordinate, assess, and compile reports on event and recruiting activities; provide recommendations to the Director and other stakeholders to enhance event and recruiting programs.
– Contribute to the development and execution of communication and marketing strategies aimed at students and employers for career fairs and other significant events through newsletters, social media, email marketing, and printed materials.
– Utilize the Career Management System and additional platforms to promote interview opportunities and events to students and employers, ensuring high levels of engagement and attendance.
– Maintain adherence to health and safety standards to ensure compliance with University, State, and Federal regulations.
– Schedule meetings with staff, departments, and clients as needed to ensure that event and recruiting processes and goals are effectively communicated to all stakeholders.
– Serve as a liaison between vendors and Career Services to secure necessary space and materials for event execution.
– Represent Career Services at employer meetings and events as requested.
– Collaborate with campus partners and CSN staff to ensure programming consistency across initiatives.
– Ensure that student and employer activity data is collected in accordance with department and University protocols and procedures.

Work Environment:

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge equivalent to that typically acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in Public Relations, Communications, Business, or a related field; one to three years of progressively responsible experience in a related domain, including planning and managing special events; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, desktop publishing, and/or presentation software is preferred. A valid vehicle operator’s license is required.
