Job description:

We are seeking a motivated Member Services Representative to join our team on a full-time basis during the afternoon/evening shift. Bilingual candidates proficient in English and Spanish are highly encouraged to apply. As a vital member of our staff, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members, and guests, ensuring an outstanding “Judgement Free” experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Front Desk Activities:

• Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere by greeting members and guests with exceptional customer service.
• Answer incoming calls in a friendly manner, assisting callers with a diverse range of inquiries.
• Facilitate member check-ins, offer tours to potential members, assist in membership sign-ups, log amenities, and communicate updates and events to members and guests.
• Address member questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Process beverage and merchandise purchases using the point-of-sale system.
• Utilize the POS system to assist with new membership cards, address changes, and billing or payment inquiries.

Club Cleanliness and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean and orderly front desk area and lobby through proactive measures.
• Perform regular cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including mopping spills near equipment, removing trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, and re-racking weights.
• Ensure all exercise equipment and tanning beds are maintained in a clean condition.
• Conduct thorough cleaning and stocking of restrooms and wet areas.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Candidates applying for this position must consent to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire, and continued employment is contingent upon a satisfactory outcome.
• Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage positively and professionally with both members and co-workers, surpassing member expectations.
• Prior experience in customer service is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Maintain an upbeat, positive, and professional demeanor.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within company-mandated timeframes and be physically capable of performing CPR/AED in case of a medical emergency.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods; regularly stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate weights of up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to communicate continually in person or on the phone throughout your shift.
• Maintain physical capability to administer CPR in medical emergencies.
• Ability to see within normal visual range, with or without correction.
• Ability to hear within the normal audio range, with or without correction.
