Job description:
As a Quality Control Chemist, you will be responsible for conducting chemical, physical, and performance testing to support our chemical manufacturing processes. Your role will involve analyzing raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product samples. Key responsibilities include performing data entry, generating and maintaining records, setting up laboratory equipment, conducting calibrations, and recommending or initiating corrective actions to address any laboratory and product non-conformance.

Responsibilities:
– Conduct chemical, physical, and performance testing in alignment with established policies and protocols.
– Analyze raw materials, in-process materials, and finished product samples.
– Execute data entry and maintain comprehensive records.
– Set up laboratory equipment and perform essential calibrations.
– Recommend and initiate corrective actions for laboratory and product non-conformance.
– Support safety, quality, 5S, ISO, GMP, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
– Actively participate in initiatives aimed at continuous improvement in quality, environmental, and safety processes.

Essential Skills:
– A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field is required.
– No prior work experience is necessary for candidates with a 4-year Chemistry degree. A minimum of two years of Quality Control experience is required for those with a 4-year Associate Science degree, or four years of Quality Control experience with a 2-year Chemistry or equivalent degree.
– Familiarity with standard laboratory methodologies and instrumentation.
– Strong technical skills to achieve challenging objectives.
– Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Proficiency in computer applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
– Experience with techniques such as colorimetry, infrared spectroscopy, titrations (both automated and manual), viscosity measurement, turbidity, digital density, melting and freezing point determination, gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and atomic absorption spectroscopy.
– Proficiency in data entry and familiar with software tools like Excel or SAP.
– Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO standards.
