We are currently seeking a Quality Compliant Coordinator for our Columbus, OH plant, which is renowned as Abbott’s oldest nutrition manufacturing facility. Here, you will join a close-knit team of 400 dedicated professionals committed to making a difference in global nutrition.

The primary responsibility of the Site QA Complaints Coordinator at the Columbus Plant is to drive product improvement initiatives through the investigation of customer complaints related to adult nutritional, pediatric nutritional, and Third Party Manufactured (TPM) products. These complaints are collected from the United States, Canada, and international affiliates. The role aims to compile, investigate, and report complaint data to initiate and implement corrective actions, thereby enhancing our products and safeguarding market share.

Key Responsibilities as a Quality Complaint Coordinator:

  • Oversee the Site "Plant Investigation Process" Standard Operating Procedure
  • Foster strong working relationships with the site QA Project Leader and Quality Engineers
  • Generate and manage reports as required
  • Conduct physical sample evaluations (field/reference)
  • Ensure the timely maintenance and tracking of Plant Investigations using the site tracking system
  • Analyze and trend complaint-related data to ensure compliance
  • Periodically assess process and/or equipment operations
  • Demonstrate effective planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Exhibit strong communication abilities, both oral and written
  • Adapt to urgent requests and escalations, including those involving FDA regulations
  • Return completed information to the Complaint Handling Unit database for record-keeping
  • Compile and maintain accurate Plant Investigation files and records
  • Execute special project requests from various organizational levels
  • Generate exception and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) documentation, including nonconformance and investigation reports for routine and non-routine manufacturing issues
  • Investigate exceptions, determining root causes, product impacts, and necessary corrective actions
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings across functions to develop effective solutions to CAPA activities
  • Manage multiple CAPA projects and tasks concurrently, ensuring timely delivery
  • Adhere to FDA regulations and corporate quality assurance policies in handling complaint files
  • Review batch records and other relevant documentation to support thorough investigation processes
  • Provide weekly status updates to plant management regarding the progression of investigations
  • Ensure accurate entry of investigation results into the Complaint Handling Unit database within specified timelines
  • Guarantee that all CAPA documentation complies with divisional policies and site procedures
  • Support site Food Safety Management initiatives, including the Pest Control program

Education and Experience Requirements:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or a combination of 2 years of manufacturing experience with 2 years of Quality Assurance experience, or 4 years of total Quality Assurance experience
  • Meticulous attention to detail to minimize the risk of errors
  • Ability to work autonomously, employing independent thinking and self-sufficiency
  • Capacity to meet target dates and manage daily responsibilities for the smooth operation of the Quality Assurance department
  • Proficient in planning, analyzing complex complaint issues, and collaborating with other professionals
  • Sound judgment to assess the adequacy of complaint investigations
  • Ability to manage high volumes of work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong aptitude for learning and operating various computer systems

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals
  • Proficiency in delivering effective oral presentations to diverse plant and divisional groups
