Purpose of the Position:
The Shift Technician will primarily focus on supporting the cleaning and packaging manufacturing processes, driving process control and enhancing operational excellence in these areas. This role involves collaboration with team leaders and operators, acting as a vital link among the cleaning and packaging operations team, technical team, maintenance team, and quality team. Responsibilities include providing manufacturing support, overseeing cost reduction initiatives, improving operational controls, and managing capacity projects within the shift.
Key Tasks:
- Collaborate on safety incidents and gather employee feedback.
- Compile shift and production reports.
- Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) performance.
- Reconcile downtime and distribute OEE run data.
- Maintain safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring 5S compliance.
- Enhance job change effectiveness.
- Implement process control and discipline strategies (SOS, SOP) throughout the plant.
- Ensure compliance with quality specifications and conduct sample limits analysis.
- Adhere to established work rules.
- Supply information for pre-run and post-run reviews with line technicians, batch section supervisors, and engineers.
- Conduct employee training and certifications.
- Participate in and support engineering activities that improve manufacturing processes.
- Provide production support to address throughput or safety issues affecting output.
- Analyze chronic issues requiring process monitoring and data-driven solutions.
- Manage multiple projects, employing sound engineering principles to ensure timely completion.
- Collaborate closely with development groups to aid in new product development.
- Document project outcomes comprehensively.
Work Hours:
- The specific schedule for technicians will be determined.
Required Education & Skills:
- 2-year Technical Degree (preferred).
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, including troubleshooting of process equipment.
- Proficiency in electrical system troubleshooting (low and medium voltage systems, PLCs, temperature controls, and safety systems).
- Experience in mechanical system troubleshooting (pneumatic controls, flow control, material handling).
Desired Skills:
- Electrical technician with a 2-year technical degree.
- Advanced knowledge of induction furnace heating and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in PLC control systems (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Siemens, or similar).
- Strong computer and data collection abilities; adept at utilizing data for problem-solving and decision-making.
Soft Skills:
